About Us
OUR MISSION
With poverty and the rising number of child workers, poor quality of education, and declining mental health and wellbeing of children in Myanmar – our mission is to equip the future leaders and citizens of the country with necessary 21st century skills through the power of play. We believe that play, more than as a child’s right, is a fundamental tool for early childhood development and in creating societal changes for the good.
While we promote play for all and playing for life, we focus especially in creating opportunities for the most marginalized groups – the economically disadvantaged, girls/women, and those with special needs.
Why Play
Skills that are necessary for optimal development and long-term success of children are not taught, but are best learned through play.
What We Do
The Pyit Tain Taung Play for Life Foundation is a local nonprofit organization in Myanmar that enables underprivileged children to learn and live better through play.
Play & Learn
On-board a mobile play caravan, we bring structured and unstructured play to underprivileged communities, covering learning topics on life skills, environmental awareness, and cultural appreciation
Community Playgrounds
We build playgrounds made from upcycled and sustainable materials. The overall design integrates modules or elements that foster active play, creativity, critical thinking and imagination
Training for Teachers
We prioritize equipping the local talents with necessary knowledge & skills sets through the Play & Learn Level 1 Training for Coaches + Level 2 Train the Trainers courses
Learn-to-Swim
This program focuses on teaching survival swimming, incorporating fun & games for kids aged 5 and below, with drowning still the leading cause of injury deaths in the country especially amongst children
